Welcome to the Scottish Flood Defence Asset Database Website
This website has been developed as a key part of the work undertaken to produce the Scottish Flood Defence and Asset Database (SFDAD) commissioned by the Scottish Government. The work was carried out by JBA Consulting. More information on the process of promoting a flood prevention scheme can be found on the Scottish Governments flooding website and can contact the Scottish Government flooding policy team, should you wish to do so.
A report summarising the findings of the SFDAD project is available and a detailed user manual are available here.
The aim of this website is to provide users with a tool to view detailed information on flood prevention schemes and their associated assets within Scotland. This has been achieved by developing a web based Geographic Information System (GIS) through which users can locate and view information on flood defences built under the Flood Prevention (Scotland) Act 1961.
The information on this site has been composed and compiled as a reference source for the benefit of flood prevention practitioners and other professionals engaged in flood mitigation and management. Should you, as a member of the public, wish details on a specific flood prevention scheme, please contact the local authority responsible for the area where the scheme is located. A contact list for local authorities can be found here.
